Henry Legge QC and Luke Harris have won a case establishing outright ownership of valuable medieval Islamic rock crystal jar.
Butcher J today handed down judgment in Jeddi v Sotheby’s and Pishvaie, finding in favour of Mr.Jeddi that Mr.Pishvaie’s claim to an interest in the Jar was a fabrication and that the supporting documents on which he relied had been forged.
The balance of the case including orders for delivery of the jar from Sotheby’s and a claim in relation to its unauthorised cleaning are due to be considered at a further hearing.
