Members of 5 Stone Buildings attend the Chancery Bar Association conference in Bermuda
On 10 May 2019, members of 5 Stone Buildings attended the Chancery Bar Asssociation’s Bermuda conference, which took place at the Hamilton Princess Hotel.
At the conference, Chief Justice Hargan welcomed the decision of the association to hold an event in Bermuda and spoke warmly about the contribution provided by members of the Chancery Bar to the strength of the Bermudan legal system.
At the event, Amanda Hardy QC, Vice-Chair of the Chancery Bar Association, and Sam Chandler spoke on the implications of UK tax changes for Bermudan trusts and corporate structures.
Mathew Roper took part in a trusts panel concerning, amongst other things, reserved powers trusts, the disclosure of information and matrimonial finance.
We are pleased to say that the event was attended by a large chambers contingent which included, in addition to the speakers already mentioned, Matthew Paton, Jordan Holland and Rose Fetherstonhaugh.
